Billing & Invoicing Management

The Challenge

Businesses often experience difficulties meeting the client's needs and expectations, complying with the deadlines, agree on the conditions and act promptly to ensure all those have been fulfilled. Expertise, attention to detail, excellent communication, and coping with stressful situations are all necessary to properly prepare and bill a campaign, which is a time-consuming and complex process. Imagine doing that with over a hundred Direct IO campaigns and SSPs where each has different
characteristics, whether those are the details it's agreed to be billed on or the data platform it uses. Our team manages that seemingly effortlessly with long experience in billing and invoicing. The billing process itself relies on the streaming/network breakout. As the industry landscape has evolved, so has the challenge of accurately distributing monthly revenue among networks. The once manageable task has grown exponentially, with the number of networks multiplying from a  humble 5 to an impressive 30+ for a single client. Our team confronts this with high dedication,  ensuring that all billing entities have been created and amounts entered for each entity separately. The smooth process equips the Finance team to effortlessly generate invoices, leveraging the careful execution of the preceding steps. With precision and attention to detail, we ensure a seamless invoicing experience.

The Solution

Understanding the concepts of each network and streaming partner helps us provide appropriate insights and suggestions to the client regarding the delivery network breakout and their revenue allocation. Besides the usual operations and partnerships, we have been challenged by the introduction of the Dynamic Ad Insertion (DAI). DAI is a server-side video ad solution that inserts video ads into live and on-demand content. Once realized its potential and with a strong passion for brilliant performance, this was addressed, and one network was broken granularly into six potential networks, indicating where the campaign performs outstandingly and what should be the next best steps for any leader – ranging from managers to EVPs. Although a complex process, we manage to encompass the delivery by the network: internal streaming breakout including five networks + streaming partner breakout within one format easily accessible and tracked by the client. Our customized templates show the performance of the campaigns for the complete data set within a month. Further, proving consistency, we keep track of billables throughout the years - the documents can always be checked and updated in case of invoice changes. Moreover, aiming to point out revenue maximization, potential savings, and better inventory allocation, we generated the monthly report implying any over-delivery for the current campaigns.

We have developed such a detailed network breakout to expand our client's collaboration with other clients, leading to mutual growth and development.  

Instead of the five major networks, revenue has been broken out into 30 networks. Streaming partners record consistent growth, not only yearly but even noticeably from month to month. 
 
It is essential to emphasize that the breakout of such granularity applies to different fields and business operations.
